Dino Extravaganza Coming To Peterborough October 25th

Local entrepreneur Tim Jeffries, affectionately referred to by CBC Radio as the “Rockstar of Dinosaur Expertise,” is excited to bring his national tour home. After a whirlwind tour throughout Canada, Jeffries is happy to present at St. James United Church on October 25th at 1pm, “The World of Dinosaurs.”  The National Touring Museum’s headline presenter, Jeffries will be bringing a large collection of real dinosaur bones with him including T. rex teeth, Triceratops horns, Diplodocus vertebrae, Saurolophus Eggs and many, many more.

Jeffries’ National Touring Museum is the only education lecture series with real dinosaur bones and fossils. The museum’s collection, so far, houses over 350 dinosaur bones, and it is about to get more as Tim is currently in Alberta to fossil hunt for new and exciting discoveries in the badlands of Canada, which will be on display at the October presentation.

“It is important to me to recognize the importance of my community and a great way to do that is to let them have the first look at the dinosaur fossils I find. But also, this lecture will have the most dinosaur bones on display that any other lecture so far,” said Jeffries. “It is important to me to help spark curiosity and inspire wonder and dinosaurs definitely do that.”

At this presentation you will learn how dinosaurs ruled the planet, amazing facts about some of its most well-known species, and how some of them survived the asteroid impact.  A fully interactive museum presentation that informs, involves, and inspires everyone who attends. In 2024, Jeffries held over 50 talks across Canada and this year he expanded his tour to include PEI and Newfoundland in his cross Canada tour, with more expansion already booked for 2026.

The National Touring Museum has been received a lot of praise from other museums as well as world-renown paleontologist Dr. Philip J Currie, the chair of dinosaur research for Canada, who believes, “the kinds of hands-on contacts make a significant impact on credibility of education.”

Erin Insley, a teacher with the Kingston school board, said, “Tim Jeffries has a unique gift for making science come alive. His presentations are the perfect balance of humour, engagement, and thought-provoking content. He doesn’t just share information – he inspires wonder. His passion for paleontology is evident, and his ability to connect with both children and adults make his talks stand out.”

Holly Ernst, a local Kindergarten teacher with the Kawartha Haliburton district school board, had this to say: “Informative and engaging… his presentation comes highly recommended!”

“Seeing Tim’s passion and expertise come to the life during a private tour of the Royal Ontario Museum was absolutely awe-inspiring, His depth of knowledge and ability to make paleontology accessible is something truly special. It’s incredible that our local community will get to experience that same world class presentation right here in Peterborough. As a graduate of out Starter Company Plus program, we couldn’t be prouder to see Tim thriving, sharing his discoveries, and inspiring the next generation of curious minds,” Rose Terry, Manager of the Business Advisory Centre and Corporate Communications, Community Futures Peterborough, stated.

A recent graduate of the Starter Company Plus program, Jeffries is grateful for what he has learned as he expands his business as he tours across Canada. “This program and its team have been such a game changer for me. I am so grateful for the guidance that I am receiving that is helping my company grow to something I couldn’t have even dreamed for myself,” said Jeffries when asked about the Business Advisory Centre.

Jeffries draws you in to experience the fascinating world of dinosaurs with a blend storytelling, science, and showmanship that keeps his audience coming back for more each paleontological tour.
